We have found the perfect tripping river in the beautiful country of Costa Rica. The Tenorio River has beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife. We started running trips on the river in 1999 and we would love to show you the great exotic places we explored.

Costa Rica, a tiny tropical paradise situated between Nicaraqua and Panama in Central America is home to some of the most stunning scenery in the world. It is a nation with a long tradition of peace and democracy, known for its friendly people who take pride in sharing their country's beauty with visitors. The 12 thousand-foot mountains produce cloud forests teaming with wildlife. The rivers flow from these mountains to the sea through rainforest, rich farmland, canyons and jungles.

 

 

 

Our "standard" trip starts in a birders paradise - the Tenorio River on the Pacific side of the country. The Tenorio is a fast moving river with some class I/II rapids. The first 5 day and 4 nights we will be camping on the river with the monkeys, high in the trees overhead. We will paddle to the ocean where the tides will set the schedule. The 5th night is on a sandy sun drenched pacific beach with a 5 star hotel as your "tent". Then we go from the west coast to the eastern slopes (the rain forests) to the Pacuare River. We spend a night on the way in an interesting "local" hotel high in the rain forest overlooking the mountains and a small farm community. The next 2 days are rafting the most famous river in Costa Rica, spending a night on the Pacuare River at an oasis carved out of the tropical rain forest. The Pacuare is a class III/IV whitewater river running through magnificent canyons. Side trips hiking through the rain forest, feature more wildlife viewing for the group. We have expanded the perfect river trip in the beautiful warm country of Costa Rica.   We have run river trips here since 1998 and would love to show you this beautiful place by water.  The Tenorio River is for any level paddler and boasts abundant wildlife for photo buffs.  The Pacuare has magnificent canyons, waterfalls and pristine jungles.  In addition to our popular “standard trip” we have sea and river kayaking opportunities new for 2002. There is also a no-camping choice.

8-day trip with canoeing and kayaking  (all camping)

This trip starts on the Pacific coast with a short paddle on the Corobisi River and then on to the Tenorio River.  The Tenorio is a fast moving river with some class I/II rapids. (The easiest)  The first 5-days/4 nights will be camping on the river with the birds and monkeys high in the overhead.  We will paddle to the ocean where the tides will set the schedule. On day 6, we are transported from the mouth of the river to a very private beach where we can sea kayak or just sit on the beach and enjoy the sand, sun and wild life. All transportation (in country), food, camping gear and guides are included for $1650/person.  Airfare & hotel/food in San Jose not included.

6-day trip  (no camping)

This trip starts with kayaking on a jungle river to a beachside resort.  Then two more days of paddling the logons, inland waterways or just sitting by the pool watching for exotic birds.  After 2 nights we travel to the rain forests in the mountains.  We whitewater raft for 3 days the Pacuare and the Reventazon Rivers in a tropical forest paradise, five nights lodging is included with all in country transportation and meals for $1495 (double) $1570 (single).   Airfare & hotel/food in San Jose not included.

 

Our standard 8-day canoeing and rafting trip

The next 2 days are rafting the most famous river in Costa Rica spending a night on the Pacuare River at an oasis carved out of the tropical rain forest.  The Pacuare is a class III/IV whitewater river (that is why we raft) running through magnificent canyons.  Side trips hiking through the rain forest feature offer added wildlife viewing for the group.    All transportation (in country), food, 2 nights in hotel, camping gear, and guides are included for $1575/person (double occupancy).  Airfare & hotel/food in San Jose not included.
